We received so many requests about CLNOUS66BRX BIC/SWIFT-code, that I decided to create a dedicated post explaining it:
SWIFT code (a bank code for SWIFT transfers) is a letters/digits code to send money between banks overseas. When you are sending to an overseas bank, you need to enter this code that identifies the bank you are sending to. SWIFT transfers are often slow (sometime take up to 5 days). There are other, faster ways to send money, such as ACH but these means my be limited to domestic banks only.
Not every bank branch has a SWIFT code, which means you can usually use the code for the bank’s head office.
CLNOUS66BRX is the SWIFT code of COLUMN bank:
COLUMN, BUILDING A, 1 LETTERMAN DRIVE, SUITE A4-700, SAN FRANCISCO, United States
(from here)
When you send money trough SWIFT, always carefully check the SWIFT code. If you entered a wrong code, contact the sending bank immediately.
Please also note that if you need a bank for a startup, Brex is your perfect choice. It is a full-fledged USA corporate banking solution and best of all, most its services are free. Of course, they support both SWIFT and ACH. Brex is backed by COLUMN bank and so has the same SWIFT code CLNOUS66BRX.
